Random Momentary Elation (RME)

Once in a great while, a brief moment comes along in my life when suddenly everything seems alright... All my looming problems suddenly have solutions, the sun looks sunnier, my thesis has a thesis... Things seem great. Today this moment lasted from 4:36pm - 4:51, a longer period than such a feeling usually lasts for me, but i was biking home, waving at cursing motorists & smelling the fresh spring dumpsters of Hyde Park...

But now i'm home, and after delaying the Real for an hour with the first episode of Lost (thanks Eric & Bethany) i am rather back to feeling nervously content, happily trepidatious and not a little swoomy. But, this afternoon's RME is not utterly gone from my life, i still have the memory of it and the hope of another such moment soon... now, if i can just remember what the line after "Zombies are good to think with..." is.

I've been there, to that park. Everytime I see those trees, I wonder why they are in a cage. To keep people out? To keep them in?

this makes me happy. i had an RME when i was 18 that, i swear, inspired me throughout 4 whole years at college. short, but potent!

wow, an impressive RME to be sure... i had a mini-RME (perhaps 'rme') today after meeting with my preceptor & sorting out what might turn out to actually be a pretty well-constructed zombie paper.
hoorah.

you UChicago people and your successful theses. i would like to know more people who go crazy and drop out. but good job, anyhow! i'd be happy to host a viewing of "28 Days Later" if you need another kick of inspiration before you're done!

ooooh... i love that movie... though i just saw it once several years ago... and i'm citing it several times in my paper... (i.e. screening'd be good)

Dude, The Omega Man is awesome.

Have you read I Am Legend by Richard Matheson as well? I'm sure it would be good research for your zombie thesis.

What about Last Man on Earth with Vincent Price? Also based on I Am Legend.

yeah... actually i've just gotten off a Masterson bender of sorts, Omega Man was the end of the road of all those that you mention... & also Stephen King's newest, Cell, which, while lacking in standard Stephen King smutty sex scenes, is a pretty good read.
